Surveyor (Red Chestnut), 2015
Silicone and oil-based stain on panel
10 x 8 inches

installation view

Birch panels are colored using Minwax Wood Finish oil-based stains. A series of lines, derived from floor plans for available units in the Bushwick luxury apartment building 1209 Dekalb (formerly known as Colony 1209), are imprinted on the panels using silicone caulk. The panels are then installed and photographed at various construction sites in the area surrounding 1209 Dekalb. The works' titles are derived from language used within the marketing materials for Colony 1209, followed by a parenthetical reference to the shade of Minwax stain used for each piece.
